Letter from the Director

Fellow Big Events:

The Big Event at Virginia Tech is proud to introduce our newest initiative: The Big Event Association. The Big Event Association is a 501(c) 3 Non-Profit Organization whose sole purpose is to expand, promote and fundraise for Big Events across the country.

The Big Event Association is seeking current and new Big Events to join the Association in order to open lines of communication, expansion and fundraising. As the BEA grows so will the services it offers; in the future we hope to offer publicity materials, insurance for each Big Event, and the backing of a national Non-Profit Organization, among many other things.

We can not do this alone. The Big Event at Virginia Tech has created the BEA to have a consistent, centralized organization that can improve our events across the board. We intend to have representatives from each Big Event that joins the Association give their input and expect them to help mold the BEA into the best organization it can be.

What we need is support. An organization as ambitious as this will require a lot of work, whether it is with ideas, fundraising or publicity there are many projects that will need to be completed. We hope you can understand the vast potential that this organization has, and we are working extremely hard to make it a reality.

As you know, the Big Event can have a vast impact on the community: imagine the Big Event expanded to hundreds of Universities, high schools, businesses, cities and towns. Imagine what we can accomplish with an organization that has the sole purpose of streamlining the process of expansion, fundraising and publicity.
