Roles

Director/Assistant Director:

  • The Director and Assistant Director are responsible for overseeing the entire Executive Committee as well as the Committee and Staff Members.

Executive Committee:

  • The Executive Committee is responsible for all of the planning and oversight for the entire year.
  • Outreach Team:

  • The Outreach Team is responsible for marketing The Big Event, recruiting volunteers and working with other Universities to start or improve their respective events.
    • Includes: Co-Directors of Marketing, Co-Directors of Recruitment, Director of Expansion
  • Projects Team:

  • The Projects Team is responsible for securing projects for the volunteers to complete, checking them for safety, and obtaining all of the tools and supplies necessary for each site.

    • Includes: Co-Directors of Projects, Co-Directors of Project Evaluation, Director of Logistics
  • Programs Team:

  • The Programs Team is responsible for the organization of additional events surrounding the planning of The Big Event such as socials or marketing events, raising funds and obtaining sponsors for the event, as well as creating and distributing the semi-annual newsletter.

    • Includes: Co-Directors of Activities, Co-Directors of Fundraising, Secretary

Committee Members:

  • Committee Members play a large role in the year long planning process, as well as do the majority of the leg-work for The Big Event. Committee Members are assigned to one of three planning committees and assist the Executive Committee members with any tasks necessary.
    • Includes: Outreach Committee, Projects Committee, Programs Committee

Staff Members:

  • Staff Members assist in making The Big Event a reality. Staff Members check project sites, market the event and help logistically on the day of the event. The work of the Staff Members allows The Big Event to run smoothly and effectively.

Team Captains:

  • Team Captains attend a logistical meeting prior to The Big Event and coordinate their team members on the day of the event.

Volunteers:

  • Volunteers give their time on the day of The Big Event and complete service projects throughout the community.
